The Globe

This year marks the 400th anniversary of the King James translation of The Bible.  In honor of that, the Globe Theatre (of Shakespeare fame) held a dramatic reading of the KJV Bible during Holy Week.  Since I was already in London on Wednesday, I decided to go for the reading of 1 Chronicles - Nehemiah.  It took an hour and a half just for 1 Chronicles, but it was SO COOL.  I had to leave after that - I wasn't exactly sure of my bearings in the city and it was getting dark, but I wish I could have stayed.  The Word of God is powerful.  I could feel it's "aliveness" throughout the presentation.

The reconstructed Globe Theatre.  It looks just like those models we made in high school.

The open air seating was very cool.

Walking back to the train station I strolled along the Thames.  Here you can see the London Eye in the foreground and Parliament in the background.

Big Ben and Parliament at dusk.

Whitehall - one of my favorites.  Unfortunately, it was too dark for me to have time to dawdle in the Whitehall Garden by the time I crossed the bridge.
