Hever Castle

Hever Castle was the child-hood home of Anne Boleyn (of Henry VIII fame).  It is a classic Tudor home with some updating done by William Waldorf Astor - he incorporated the lovely Italianate gardens.

The Walled Garden - these types of gardens always remind me of "The Secret Garden".

The Castle from the front.  At first glance, it seems rather small, but it's quite charming once you get inside.

The Tudor style courtyard - that's 500 year old wood!

A view of the castle from the side.  The topiaries are supposed to be animals - I never saw them.

A nice, quiet spot with the soothing sound of water trickling over the rocks. I need one of these in my yard.

One of several scenic bends in the garden path.
