Rape in full bloom. It's used to make canola oil. Who knew oil could be so beautiful? Once again, apologies for the haze. I was enjoying the sunshine, though, so I sacrificed the quality of my photographs gladly.
A view over The Moors. If I remember right, this particular view was one of James Herriot's favorites.
We happened upon the ruins of this abbey quite by accident. I love finding hidden treasures!
View over The Hole of Horcum. Legend says it was formed when the giant, Wade, picked up a handful of dirt to throw at his wife, Belle. Fortunately, he missed. The hill in the background is where his missile landed, the valley is what was left after he picked up the dirt. For the record, heather is ug-ly when not in bloom.
Coastal town of Whitby. On the outskirts of the moors.
York Minster in York.
The Dales. The sheep are so iconic!
Brimham Rocks was only about 25 minutes from where we stayed. I think this one looks like a sleeping lion.
The view from the rocks was incredible.
It's like the cloud game! I see a sleeping leopard. What about you?
It's Scruffy the Tugboat! Did anyone else read that book as a child?
The rocks were super-neat, but I kept getting side-tracked by the panoramic vistas.
I don't really know what this one looks like, but it's cool anyway.
