Yesterday, November 5, was Guy Fawkes Day. He tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament in England in 1605 to displace Protestant rule. Fortunately for Parliament, he was thwarted and brought to justice before the attack could take place.
The bizarre thing is, that to commemorate him, everyone has bonfires and shoots off fireworks. So the question is . . . are they celebrating that he failed? or that he tried?
Hmmmmm.
Regardless, around here it's been more like Guy Fawkes Week. Good thing I like fireworks.
