Today I finally did it. Both I and my new dental hygenist were in reasonably good health, so no appointment reschedule today (it only took 4 appointments to get me there).
Here's a run down:
1. Walk 15 minutes to the Dental Practice
2. Put on safety goggles - seriously - they take Health and Safety VERY seriously here.
3. Listen to that horribly annoying scraping sound for what seems like forever.
4. Get between my teeth cleaned out with this brush that looks like a toothpick with bristles - halfway through the hygenist acknowledges that she probably should have used a smaller size.
5. Blue SANDPAPER - no joke, that's what she called it - is used to "floss" between my front teeth.
6. Waterpick the size of a needle that feels like needles applied to all crevices in my teeth to make sure that nothing is left from the scraping, the brush thing, and the sandpaper.
7. Polish my teeth - but only the sides - without rinsing.
8. Walk back to work, slightly traumatized, but feeling like a big girl.
The upside? I now have clean teeth :)
