Wake up and discover it's raining.
Change outfit for the day to a skirt (it dries faster).
Make sure the umbrella is by the door so there is no way I can forget it.
Lament the fact that I still haven't made it a priority to purchase Wellies (rain boots).
On the Journey:
Walk out the door and lock it.
Unlock the door - I forgot the umbrella.
Re-lock the door.
Get to the door of the building where the minute I open it the rain goes from a mild monsoon to a full out deluge.
Open umbrella and pull on hood.
Get to the 10 inch deep puddle that runs all the way across the road - look both ways repeatedly, then RUN as fast as possible past the puddle before some car comes by to soak me (I'm a fast learner).
Umbrella turns inside out the first time.
Car intentionally (okay, so maybe not, but it sure seemed like it) moves over to splash the puddle next to me.
Umbrella turns inside out the second time.
Second car splashes me at the crosswalk.
Arrive at work thoroughly soaked.
Post-journey observations:
I absolutely must make it a priority to get rain boots soon.
God is absolutely in control - and He absolutely has a sense of humor.
I need a new umbrella.
For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike.
Matthew 5:45b

Ok, on some level, this reminds me of life at Union. You should definitely invest in the Wellies.
