It's Not Easy Being Green

One of the things that really plays tricks on my mind is how green it is here all of the time.  It's one of the up-sides of having so much rain.  The difficult part is that it makes you believe that spring is just around the corner, even though it's still the dead of winter.  These photographs were taken in the middle of January at Polesden Lacey - a National Trust estate.  Looking at them you would never guess it was freezing outside.  Now, if I can just hold out until spring is actually here - sometime in mid-April or May.

  No dead brown grass here.

While some deciduous plants do lose their leaves, it's not just the conifers that stay green all of the time.
Quintessential English countryside - green all year round.

A view on my way to work.  Wouldn't this make you think spring is in the air?

Yay for green plants! Our yard is completely brown...there are advantages to being a Brit. :)
