Claremont Landscape Garden

My National Trust membership expires in just a few days, so I've been trying to get in as many sites as possible before it goes.  It's been a great investment - less than a pound per attraction - and lots of weekend entertainment. Recently, we headed to Claremont Landscape Garden.

It was actually much chillier than it looks, but what a beautiful sunny day!

I love looking at light filtering through the trees.  If you look carefully you can see a swath of daffodils on the left.

Camellias are so happy!  Like a rose, with glossier leaves and no scent.  For some reason they always remind me of Alice in Wonderland.  I think it's because of the animated film that shows the cards painting the roses to be the right color.  The roses are on trees - which is actually how camellias grow.

Cool tower on the lawn.

Geese grazing in the grass.  I think that could be a tongue twister.

Two black swans and their nest.  They were pretty aggressive in protecting it from the geese.
