On the first day, I headed to the Astronomical Clock. The view from the top of the tower is one of my favorites in the city.
The astronomical clock. It's super-cool. It tells time in three different ways, tracks the movement of the sun and the moon (according to the standards of the 1400s), give the signs of the zodiac, and shows what Saint's day it is. That's a lot of info!
The buildings have such cool facades!
Looking out over Old Town from the top of the tower. I love the colorful buildings, but they kind of look fake - like doll miniatures.
The Jan Hus monument. Yep, he was Czech. Bet you didn't know that.
The Church of Our Lady Before Tyne. If you look carefully, you can see that the tower on the right is larger than the one on the left. Intentional? Who knows.
Church of St. Nicholas. It looks much smaller inside that it appears from the outside. The little "huts" in amongst the trees are the beginnings of the Easter Market.
View of the rooftops looking to the Prague Castle.
I think this looks like a movie scene.
No trip to Prague is complete without a trdlo - yes, I spelled that correctly. It's like a hollow cinnamon roll. They roll the dough around thick wooden dowels and then turn them over an open fire until they are baked through. Then they are rolled in sugar. Yummy!
