My Everyday Journey

I thought you might enjoy the sights I see each evening as I walk home from work.
This is the quaint gatekeepers house at the edge of the office grounds. It reminds me of the Trixie Belden books I read growing up - I always wanted to be a Bob White.

This is the first public foot path I take on the way home.
So, "The Road Not Taken"-esque.

These are the allotments where people grow vegetables if they don't have room in their back yards, ahem, gardens. The waiting list to get one is two years!!
This view is just so quintessentially British to me.

This is a real sign. Please make sure you pronounce it correctly - "Zeh-brah."
Does anyone know what it means?

The snowdrops that just bloomed.
It makes my heart happy to see the first flowers of spring!

The post box that I should use more often.
They are so much more stately than the blue ones we have in America.

Does anyone really know how to pronounce this?

"Humped Zebra Crossing": A term used in the UK for a giant speed bump with a striped crosswalk on top of it.

Ukrainians call crosswalks "zebras" as well! I'm not sure that they have a word for the raised ones...

Is "Gloucester" pronounced "glah-ster?" Just guessing here...

I REALLY enjoyed this post! The pictures were wonderful!

Ah - home . . .Are you trying to make me homesick? Well, in a few more weeks, it might have worked, but I'm not tired to the US yet.

Hope you are well.
