Life is Not Like the Movies

Have you ever seen one of those older movies where a slick driver in a rare motor car goes past a pedestrian and hits the puddle in the gutter splashing the pedestrian?  The driver (usually a handsome man) always backs up and apologizes profusely to the soaked pedestrian (usually an attractive lady).  At the least, a new friendship is formed and more often than not a new romance begins and they find their one true love through an accidental splash.

I'm here to tell you that life is not like the movies.  I got splashed SEVEN times this morning on the way to work.  And not one of them backed up to apologize.  In fact, I'm pretty sure that cars two and four did it on purpose as there was no other traffic on the road and they promptly removed themselves from near the curb after I had received the splashing.  And no handsome men were the perpetrators.  I guess I'll have to find another way to meet Prince Charming.

This morning's walk is just one more reason I'm so thankful for Wellies . . . dry feet are such a blessing!
