Once Upon a Time . . .

There was a beautiful castle surrounded by a moat.

Sheep peacefully grazed in the surrounding area.

And the gardens abounded with beautiful flowers, including tulips.
The picturesque setting included a boat house with daffodils nearby.
Over time, the old castle fell into disrepair.

Until all that was left were ruins at the end of the lane.

So, a new castle was constructed to replace it.

But lest the old castle be forgotten, the new castle was built so that the old castle could be clearly seen.

And the ruins could be remembered.

And then, one day enjoyed by all who wished to visit and take in the beauty of the surroundings.

And the sheep continued to graze, knowing all was well.

And even to this day, the two Scotney Castles stand as sentries to one another and remember their by-gone glory days and silently testify to eras long past.

The End.

I love Scotney Castle. Gary and I have lovely memories of more than one visit there with several great friends, one who has already gone Home - a much better castle, I'm sure. :-)

See you next week.
